Hi Sofiya, we apologize for the inconvenience. Our staff is trained not to accept any ID of a person who looks under 30 if they are unsure about its authenticity. Since no other physical form of ID was available, we had to deny it. We cannot allow a photo or photocopy of an ID, which was explained the night of. We are sorry for any misunderstanding. Our staff prides itself on being courteous and respectful while also following protocol.

The hostess was so rude and did not accept my valid Minnesotas drivers ID. I even showed her my passport but,she didnt even explain why she didnt accept it!!!! In case you dont know how to spot a real ID. This is exactly what a MINNESOTAs ID looks like. Just cause it doesnt match NYC ID doesnt mean you get to decline it and you never even explained the reason. If you thought it was a fake ID you should have freely called the cops as you are supposed to!!!! By not calling the cops you didnt comply with the terms of you liquor license either.

Hi Dimitris, We feel terrible that you felt cheated, sir. Obviously that is the complete opposite of the experience we work hard to give and while we would never presume to argue how a customer feels, please let us point out that although your check did not include the price for each glass you ordered, you selected your wine from our menu under the wine by the glass section which has the price for each glass next to each selection, yours being 4 glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon marked at $14 per glass. In addition to the price for each glass printed on the menu, your check read $14 x 4. It is our experience that this information has usually been enough to convey what is owed and why. That being said, we have taken special notice of your review and are now discussing how this sort of thing can be avoided in the future. We are a premier location in Williamsburg, Dimitris, and we offer a premier venue and environment, serving premier liquors and wine and I don't think we've done a bad job because we've been around for 13 years. Nice Cozy place unfortunately no price list on wine by the glass not even on the check. Just a total $. Felt cheated by the bartender with the overpriced cheap wine. Turns out they charged $14 for the house wine. I will not come back again. (We had 4 glasses of wine )

Had a party in the back room and it was perfect! The staff at the bar was super helpful and accommodating. Everyone had a great time and the drinks were great!

Hello NewStyle, Most of Velvet Brooklyn's events are free, so unfortunately, I don't believe your review applies to our business. The only event we have charged for has been Pole Play Thursdays on the third Thursday of each month, where tickets are sold at $15 for the entire night-- there is no free entry for guests. Velvet will advertise events that will not actually happen. Do not pre pay for any event here unless your 100% sure. Came down for a show security guard said its $15 to get in. I already RSVP. Free.entry before 11pm . I noticed no one was coming in. Left came back to see if crowd would show up at 12:30 am.doors was locked whole club shut down. So what if I paid and left ..Security would of played me.
